Jodhpur at The First Sight

After an overnight train ride from Jaisalmer, I arrived at Jodhpur Railway Station in the early morning, I grabbed 50 rupees from my jacket and got a few sips of hot Chai tea and a few bites of warm Kachori. Morning in Jodhpur was so peaceful, or maybe the city was still sleeping yet. Got out of the station and right away hired a tuk-tuk to take me to the first or main attraction in Jodhpur, yeah, the Majestic Mehrangarh Fort.

I arrived at the fort area before it’s open, and I turned to stroll around and had my own time to see the beauty of the blue city from the height. This blue city was more fantastic in the morning, covered by the super light fog as the crowds were starting up. I explored the Mehrangarh Fort with a headphone and a recorder attached, I followed number by number walking through the huge building. There were so many impressive stories that I got, I was like kicked back to the exact time and situation of what’d been told. Also, the architecture was beyond imagination, so detailed and took a lot of my attention. Such an amazing experience tho.

Fort tour was over at mid-day, and I cruised down on the path walk leading from the fort to the blue houses. My impression suddenly escalated once I realized that I’ve been trapped in the vibrant blue complex. It was so fun to just have undirected steps exploring the city. Until I found the main area which was the Clock Tower in the middle of a hectic traditional market of Jodhpur.

This city is more crowded than the last city, Jodhpur is also one of the touristy areas and maybe that’s the reason why I found so many hotels, cafes or just souvenir shops scattered around the places. I explored Jodhpur from the dawn until the night because I already got the midnight train that took me to the next destination.
