How to Avoid Indian Tourist Visa Scam?

First thing first, all foreign nationals entering India are required to have a national passport and a valid visa or e-visa from the Bureau of Immigration.

With that said, are you planning to travel to India, but still confused on how to get your e-visa? Here is a couple of tips from us! 

1. Check your passport and make sure it has six months’ validity from the date you arrive in India
2. Only trust the official Government of India website at www.indianvisaonline.gov .into apply your e-visa. Make sure to apply and get your e-visa only at that website, at least four days before your arrival date
3. Here’s the tricky part. BE CAUTIONED AND DO NOT trust websites other than the stated above. Definitely stay away from websites ending in .org and websites that require any payment from you
4. For the Indonesians reading this, remember that there is a free tourist e-visa policy for Indonesians visiting India. So again, please do not trust websites that ask you for a visa application fee!
